Insulin resistance

Insulin is a hormone produced by the Pancreas which is critical for the body’s use of glucose as energy. Insulin resistance (IR) is a condition in which the body’s cells become resistant to the effects of insulin. That is, the normal response to a given amount of insulin is reduced. Individuals with Metabolic Syndrome often have Insulin resistance. It can also lead to other metabolic conditions like Abdominal obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, PCOS in women and Type 2 Diabetes. The physiological symptoms of Insulin resistance include the appearance of velvety dark patches and thickening of the skin and raised skin tags around the neck, armpits and groin area. If you notice any of these signs, make sure to correct your diet and meet your doctor.

How MB can help

Chronic inflammation and excess weight can lead to insulin resistance which can be the starting point of Type 2 Diabetes. Metabolic Balance diet can help fix the early signs and symptoms of Diabetes and insulin resistance. With an 8-10% reduction in body weight and waist circumference, one can keep the risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes at bay. The increase in insulin sensitivity also helps to restore the basic complexion in the darkened skin areas such as the back of the neck, armpits, etc. It even helps resolve the skin pigmentation which happened due to the insulin fluctuations in the body.
