Condition Treated: Lower Back Pain

Experience:

I was suffering from acute pain in my lower back for quite some time which was causing immense discomfort and due to which, I was hampered in carrying out routine chores. I came to know about AktivHealth from a friend who is also my colleague. On coming to the center, what struck me was the incisive analysis of my ailment and the physiotherapy plan designed subsequently. The physiotherapy sessions that I was made to follow have reduced my pain significantly and the exercises which I have been explained keeps me active which helps me to maintain my physical health consistently. I was suffering from an acute knee problem due to which I could not exercise well. I came to know about AktivHealth through an advertisement and visited the center in January 2016. The personalized attention and emphasis on core-strengthening have helped me immensely. The quality of care has been excellent. The physiotherapist, Ms. Vidhu Sindwani has been very dedicated to my cause which has been a constant source of motivation for me. Experience:

On the recommendation of a friend, I visited AktivHealth in January 2016 due to severe pain in my neck and back. The manner in which Dr. Mueller and his team went about diagnosing my ailment and then planning a rehabilitation program, speaks immensely about the degree of professionalism and dedication of the entire staff in this center.

I really feel better and the ‘pangs of suffering’ no more haunts me. Such a feeling has never been experienced by me before despite having visited so many institutions before. The pain has definitely lessened. My physiotherapist Mr. Suryamani was very attentive and extremely sincere who kept encouraging me at every step as a result of which, one could follow the treatment plan effortlessly which otherwise, was seeming to be difficult.

Experience:

I was having acute pain in my back as well as was suffering from muscular weakness. I had gone to a physiotherapist earlier but there was no respite. It was then that I came to know about AktivHealth from a friend who strongly recommended me to go to the institution and accordingly, visited the center in the first week of January.

After consultation and methodically analyzing my condition, a detailed treatment process along with a thorough follow up procedure was formulated by Dr. Mueller and his team of experts. Condition Treated: Frozen Shoulder & Cervical Pain

Experience:

I made my first visit to AktivHealth at the Punjabi Bagh center in July 2015 after being recommended by my daughter-in-law Mrs. Monica. Being a patient of frozen left shoulder and cervical pain, I was suffering from severe pain in the shoulder which was causing restriction of my movements.

Earlier, I had visited a couple of other centers where only passive therapy was given and there was less emphasis on exercise and rebuilding. At AktivHealth, I experienced quite the opposite. It is the quality of their manual techniques that has relieved my pain. The variety of exercises and their highly equipped space was something I had never experienced before. My physiotherapist, Ms. Samidhi Saxena is very sincere and patient-oriented and has an empathetic attitude towards patients.

The care received at AktivHealth has been very focused and diligent. The doctors and therapists are well qualified and very experienced. Their professional acumen reflects in the quality of work and now I really feel young and active.

Condition Treated: Spinal & Neurological Problem

Experience: 

I was introduced to AktivHealth by my golfing friend, Mr Gagan Verma, who himself had been suffering from a severe spine problem and got completely rehabilitated at the same center. He had strongly urged me to start my treatment at AktivHealth. This is how I met Dr. Mueller, who along with Physiotherapist Akshay Arora, examined my physical condition.

I was suffering from a broad-based Disc Protrusion at L4-L5 in my Lumbar Spine and was diagnosed with Spinal Canal Stenosis and Neural Compression at L4-L5 level, causing intense pain in my both legs. Since then, I have been taking my physiotherapy sessions from Akshay who taught me various techniques very thoroughly, both with and without the equipment installed at different departments of the center. I must state, the facilities provided here are certainly state-of-the-art and the patients are fully trained to use them for their physical improvement and fitness.

After a period of 10-12 weeks, my body movement had improved and the pain in my legs did not bother me anymore. Thereafter, with subsequent assessments by Dr. Mueller and therapy sessions with Akshay, I have even resumed my game of golf which I couldn’t play before, owing to severe pain.

During my rehabilitation period, I observed that the technique followed here to be very unique. Doctors train different muscles and components of the spine to reduce stiffness, making muscles more flexible resulting in pain relief.

Condition Treated:  Parkinson’s Disease

Experience:

I learned about AktivHealth from my nephew and came to the center in March 2015 for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. Earlier, I had undergone treatment in the National Neurology Institute in Singapore but not being a permanent resident of Singapore, I am not entitled to the rehabilitation program.

At AktivHealth, the quality of treatment administered is unique and what stood out was the personal touch of my physiotherapist, Ms. Pooja Bajaj. I felt cared for. The approach to treatment has been very scientific as well as progressive. The efforts put in by Dr. Mueller and the pains taken by his team is well manifested in the professionalism exhibited by one and all. I do experience a great deal of improvement. The staff members are very polite, helpful and want to take care of a patient. I wish the center all the good luck and am sure that they shall continue the good work.

Condition Treated: Joints & Foot Pain

Experience: 

I was introduced to AktivHealth by a colleague who recommended the center for treatment of my wife’s knee problem. I suffered from a painful inflammation of the arch of my right foot and heel as well as pain from the small muscles that support the joint of my right knee has taken some long walks over rough ground. I felt one of my legs was overly dependent on the other and so, I was taking a long time to recover than what I would have expected.

This pain in my knee made it very painful to climb or descend from irregular, high or steep steps. As my wife had benefitted from her treatment at AktivHealth, I thought it would be worth trying to see if they could help solve my problem after being advised to get some physiotherapy by my physician.

The treatment started with a myofascial release to loosen up my tight muscles so that I could make the best use of my exercise program devised to help me with movement, strengthening of my knee and to also build up core muscles and improve my posture. The whole program is designed to make the cure self-sustaining.

After 12 weeks of the AktivHealth Plan, I have less muscular pain because my posture is better and the core muscles are getting stronger; I am more active and more confident in what my body is capable of. This means that I am less likely to go back into the vicious circle of adopting strategies to protect a sensitive or painful limb which, in turn, leads to poor posture and more muscular pain.

Dr. Mueller and his team are significantly different from the approach followed by other facilities. I do consider that taking a holistic (as in total body) approach and treating a patient in a manner that he is helped to achieve what he wants to, makes it a win-win situation. My experience has been a highly positive one and one that has made me more physically able now than I would have been had the focus been solely on treating my right knee and foot. I also think that the approach of the team leads to greater sustainability of the success of the treatment in a patient’s life.

The result has been that I am now able to enjoy walking and exploring towns and buildings without continuously having to worry that my right leg will ‘break down’ again.

Condition Treated: Movement Disorder & Scoliosis

Experience:

We came to know about AktivHealth from our German friends. Our son has a rare genetic condition known as “NGLY-1 deficiency”. We registered at the center in June 2013 for pediatric physiotherapy and to consult Dr. Gerd Mueller (MD). Benno was assigned to Ms. Aditi Midha, a pediatric physiotherapist.

Before AktivHealth, we did home-based physiotherapy for our son for a long time. AktivHealth’s physiotherapy is on par with the treatment we received in Germany. In fact, scheduling is more efficient here.

Now, Benno has a stronger neck and his legs are beginning to dissociate. The treatment approach at AktivHealth is different from another Delhi-based physiotherapist who provided physiotherapy for our son before we came to AktivHealth. I do not think of the approach as western vs. Indian but rather standardized vs. individualized. We appreciate that Aditi takes her cues from our son instead of implementing a standard program.

Condition Treated: Lower Back Pain & Hand Tremor

Experience:

I heard about AktivHealth from its founder, Dr. Gerd Mueller (MD) and a friend, Mr. Armin Albert. I visited the center as I was having backache and tremors in my hand. I saw a physiotherapist a year ago but found very little improvement and that was only temporary. AktivHealth is very different from any other center that I have ever been to. They are very focussed and every patient is given the personal attention they require. They are very thorough in their work and make sure that the patient is comfortable at their center. They go into very subtle details to know the exact problem before they treat it.

It is an amazing experience how, with a few exercises and myofascial treatment sessions, the patient heals without any medication. At AktivHealth, the approach has been extraordinary and I would recommend this center to those seeking medical advice. Mr. Akshay, my physiotherapist, has done a great job, with guidance from Dr. Mueller. Now, I feel much better and have seen a big improvement in my activities of daily living.

Experience:

I was in such despair! I had pain in my right hip joint and spent 3 years consulting homeopaths, orthopaedician and physiotherapists – all to no avail. Then I came to AktivHealth.

I know that surgery was never the answer, and I have learned how to manage myself with therapy and the right guidance. This is not to run down other practices or systems, but they just lack the kind of preventive care that makes all the difference.

Experience:

My husband Mr. Gopi Nambier has enrolled himself with AktivHealth, so I also got my daughter Thushara for a check-up. She has inward walking i.e. she walks with her feet turned in. After joining AktivHealth. Thushara has started walking properly. Now only occasionally, her feet go inwards since there is a tendency. The quality of care and treatment are given by a therapist is great. Pallavi is excellent with kids. The approach at AktivHealth is very different. Educating the patient and relatives is very good. My daughter loves this place and she has also changed her walking style.
